Combining drawing and painting with texturing and patterning, these artisan earrings are created with hand drawn designs and multilayered enamel finishes to show off the saturated colors and luminosity of glass. Using the centuries old technique of enameling on metal and historical enamel methods, with the intention of creating richly surfaced, artistically expressive and technically innovative contemporary art and jewelry, these earrings are sculpturally formed from steel to play with light and shadow, then coated with many thin layers of glass and pigment and fused in a kiln at 1500 degrees. The resulting earrings “go together” but are not mirror images. Every pair is unique and one of a kind.
