This handcrafted bird is created from Mahogany wood veneer. Each piece in this sculpture is cut, steamed, gently shaped, glued and then clamped. Once dry, the individual parts are assembled together in sections using waterproof wood glue and clamps. The design on this bird is a peppering of grape leaf cutouts made from walnut and white oak as well as mahogany wood veneers. This lovely and sturdy bird, is coated with marine grade spar-urethane to live indoors or covered outdoors. The stainless steel wire makes functionality possible by enabling the bird the ability to carry up to 30lbs. Approximate weight and size: 3 oz, tip of tail to beak 11 inches with a wingspan close to 12 inches. I can make larger and smaller sizes upon request. Please message me for details.
