This barstool is the top of the line. I was contacted by someone who saw my work online and liked it. He and his wife wanted a custom design with oval legs and a deep walnut stain. After going back and forth for three months, we agreed to a design. Six months later, I had made four for them and one for display. It took a year from the initial contact to shipment. Why so long? Each leg took hundreds of hours to shape the oval shapes and the connection between the footrests and the legs. The compound curves have to be coaxed from the wood with hand sanding with autobody foam pads. The photos give some idea of the challenges. Dimensions: 17"W x 14"D x 30"H. Finishing: Stained and filled with a finish designed for boats, followed by hand rubbed polyurethane for durability. The feet have felt pads. The owners are very happy with them.
