This box was a commission from an oncologist who, upon his upcoming retirement, wanted a special box for mementos, documents and photos of his productive life. He picked out the wood, I drew the plans, gave the parts to a CNC operator to do the precise cutting that the design required, and I did the final details, assembled and finished it. It was a labor of love. Materials: Padouk sides, Begote (Central America) and Wenge (West Africa), lid, top quality hinges and latch. Dimensions: 12"D x 7"H x 14.5"W Finish: oil and poly mix. Notice the floating solid bottom, which keeps the wood from splitting and the dovetail joints.
