Four different birds from the Riding the Wind Necklace.
I took the shape of the birds from Frankish brooches at the Met Museum in their Medieval section.
All the birds are sterling silver, all the chains are blackened silver with a hook clasp. The blackened silver chain and bird bead together are about 17". The double bird is about 17.5". The birds themselves average .89" x .53" x .153".
The Double Bird, Fish Bird, and Roosting Bird have sapphire eyes. Soaring Bird has a spessartite garnet eye, and one Flying Bird is silver with a green tourmaline eye, while the other is blackened silver with a pink tourmaline eye.
Modeled on the computer in Zbrush, 3d printed in a castable resin, cast in silver, finished with a liver of sulfur patina.
