Acid etched metal art on aluminum with Pennsylvania cherry wood
This table clock features ferns and dragonflies in the nature inspired artwork created by the artist. Each scene is hand painted onto the aluminum metal with an acid resistant paint. The painted metal is submerged in acid until the artwork remains in high relief. The paint is removed and the metal art is hand finished with saws, files and buffing. The metal art carries the clock numbers 12, 3 and 6 with dots representing the 1, 2, 4,and 5. The cherry wood has inlayed maple wood dots which designate the numbers 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11. The cherry wood has a hand rubbed finish. Neither the wood or the metal requires any maintenance! The clock runs on a reliable Seiko quartz clockworks which runs on one AA battery.
