Shield 80 is 56x10x4", and made of a stick with lines carved by insects, painted pine, stained curly maple and barn siding. The painted colors are white, red, blue, green and orange.
A stick was cut longways in half, butterflied open, cut into sections and used to determine the size of the holes in the shield. To me the holes in the shield are exploring vulnerability and protection - how we dance with both in our relationships. It is also extremely female, which I LOVE! This is a proud mama.
