Crack 3 is 50x10x4", and made from painted pine and cracked oak.
This is the only piece shown here from a series inspired by lyrics from the Lenard Cohen's song, Anthem: "There is a crack, a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in."
The painted pine has many layers of acrylic paint applied and sanded through so that the life of the wood shows through. The paint accentuates the wood grain and the chattering of the planer.
