This necklace is centered on a pendant I carved in black nephrite jade from Wyoming. Softly polygonal on the outside, it's hollowed out on the other side, it exists in the twilight space between the geometric and the organic. A seductive, softly lustrous satin finish adds a mysterious element.
The pendant is accented by a brightly translucent satin finished amethyst bead.
The card is plant dyed, hand braided pure silk kumihimo, combining tones of light green, black, rose gold, and brown.
The length of the cord is adjustable by means of a sliding red jasper bead.
The pendant measures 2 3/4" high x 1 1/4" wide x 7/8" thick. The entire necklace weighs 1.5 ounces.
The pendant is signed and dated SCHILLING 2020.
