This necklace centers on a pendant I carved in fine apple green Wyoming jade.
The form is based on the carapace of crustaceans like lobster, crawfish, and shrimp. The form is tapered, curved, and hollow on one side.
The bright green jade is accented by reddish brown patterned agate beads. The cord is plant dyed, hand braided pure silk kumihimo, adjustable in length by means of a sliding bead.
The pendant measures 3/4" high x 2 5/16" wide x 1/2" thick. The entire necklace weighs 0.6 ounces.
The pendant is signed and dated SCHILLING 2020.
