Esther, Boat 65 is 65x11x4", the material includes a deck plank from Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, pine fencing and a photo printed on a crackled-surface board.
I have long considered the shield shape as female, and with the opportunity to integrate a photograph I further explored this idea. Barbara Vogel printed the portrait of Esther on the distressed board and I laminated it to the plank. The pine on the right side is spray painted silver, and coated with stain. It glistens.
