The story of Indra's Net is a metaphor for the matrix of our universe as a vast jeweled net. At each intersection is a jewel, reflecting itself and the other jewels back at themselves into infinity. Being inspired by this beautiful metaphor, I explored the net design using the geometric torus for the moon, which is covered with white and yellow 24 kt gold leaf smalti and with the genuine Swarovski crystals at each vertex. The crystals are very subtle and wink at you when you least expect it!
The sun mandala design is inspired by the colors of the Bird of Paradise flower and is embellished with copper wire nests and more genuine Swarovski crystals. The inner rim of the mirror is gold leaf and amethyst.
