I began producing contemporary furniture in 2014 after earning a Master of Architecture degree with a focus on furniture design. Concept, form, proportion, balance, contrast and clean elegant lines are all considered in the design process. Many designs incorporate anodized aluminum, adding a contemporary contrast to the timelessness of wood. All designs combine art with function. In 2023 I introduced 9 clock designs, partly as a way to use shorter pieces of wood leftover from furniture pieces.

Q&A with the ArtistTell us how your work is made. Many of my table tops feature aluminum inlays that are cut from extruded pieces of aluminum such as solid rods or square hollow tubes. These are glued into drilled holes or matching shapes routed into the table top; then the surface is sanded smooth in a drum sander. My Lace coffee table has inlays of aluminum cut from a sheet of aluminum and inlaid into the wood top. A CNC machine uses a vector file that I create on my computer to cut the aluminum and rout the matching design in the wood. |
