This abstract embroidery is about the magic that connects this world and the next as represented in nature-centered myths around the world. It is a tangle of moss-like textures braided with ripples of coral and profusions of mushroom-like shapes.
There is the suggestion of a snake representing the passage between those worlds not unlike the passage of needle and thread from the back to the front of an embroidery and back again. What is on the other side? Since this piece is finished in the hoop, the other side is hidden and can only be imagined. Strangely, I see a subtle infinity symbol which is also connected to the ouroboros, signifying infinite life.
