This handcrafted bird in flight is created from Walnut, Maple and Mahogany wood veneers. Each wood veneer piece that makes up this sculpture is cut, steamed, gently shaped, glued and clamped. Once each piece is dry, the individual parts are assembled together using waterproof wood glue. This lovely and strong bird, which pays homage to its source by carrying the design of a tree under its wing and tail, is coated with satin marine grade spar-urethane to live indoors or covered outdoors. The stainless steel wire makes functionality possible by enabling the bird the ability to carry up to 30lbs. Approximate eight and size: 3 oz, tip of tail to beak approximately 11 inches with a wingspan close to 12 inches. I can make larger and smaller sizes upon request. Please message me for details.
