These 3, approximately 5x3 inch tumblers were thrown on the potter's wheel from a blend of wild clay harvested on my grandparent's land in rural West Virginia. They were glazed with a matte white and matte black glaze and fired in a cone 11 soda kiln. At peak temperature soda ash is sprayed into the kiln to combine with the alumina and silica in the clay and glazes within the kiln to create unique surfaces on each piece within the kiln. Perfect for a summer's cocktail, ice tea, or bubbling seltzer. While all my pottery is dishwasher safe I always strongly recommend hand washing handmade pottery.
