Keum-boo is an ancient Korean technique of fusing 24K gold foil to silver. The thickness of keum-boo foil is much thicker and more durable than gold plating/vermeil. This allows for the look of high karat gold without the cost of solid gold.
The discs are created by heating silver to its molten state and squashing it with a graphite paddle to create a one-of-a-kind textured disc. Earrings are made to order (2 week for fabrication and shipping time). Discs are approximately .5" and 1".
Made with a sterling silver earring post and 18K jump ring. Can also be made with 18K earring posts or ear wire.
