Moving Through the World.  This is a felted piece that was an expression of the joy of being in the world with friends and family.  I used merino roving that I naturally dyed with madder, logwood, and purple basil and embellished the piece with many different kinds of studio materials.  Each of the 16, 4x4" felt pieces is hand-mounted on acid-free mat board and framed.  The overall size is 22x22".

This felted wall art piece was made as part of a larger International virtual art piece, which included 96 pieces.  This piece (Moving Through the World) is in the 2nd to the last row and is 3rd from the right side.  This was part of a "Creative Sparks" exercise, hosted by the International Feltmakers Association (UK) and led by Master Felter, Fiona Duthie (Canada).  The overall impulse was bringing international felters together during Covid in a group creative space and was completed in the Fall of 2021.  To learn more about the project, watch the following video: https://www.fionaduthie.com/creative-sparks-international-feltmakers-association-project/

Proceeds from the sale of this piece will go to support scholarships for young interested artists to learn felting in my studio, this spring.
