This delicate, unusual wall hanging is a departure from the hoop art I have been making for the past few years. It developed from a series of ink sketches I made, experimenting with marks, movement, and drawing on the idea of constant transformation in nature.
Tendrils reach out, touch one another, transform, metamorphose, everything in flux. I work intuitively and my abstract embroidery evolves improvisationally.
I also enjoy working with found and upcycled materials. This piece incorporates messy thread scraps, antique buttons, and a repurposed scarf.
Its dimensions are 12 x 50.5 inches.
