~ This is a series of scarves devoted to the tides -- which are so regular and so not! The waves come in, pass through each other on the way out, wave after wave, patterns that repeat without ever repeating.
The treadling (and thus striping pattern) on each scarf is unique, as I'm creating the rhythm as I weave. It's not random (I'm consciously creating a pattern) but it's also not regular. No two scarves (or waves!) are exactly alike.
Weave structure: Turned taquete with a line of leno to demarcate the narrow hems (no fringes).
Color: In this dense weave, the bright aquamarine weft really blends into a warp of blue, red, and gold. Each scarf has just three thin horizontal lines of gold, one placed near to one end, the other two approaching the opposite end -- to break the flow (think of lobster pot markers punctuating a blue-green sea).
Dimension: Scarf 7x72"
Fiber: Tencel (eco-friendly, eucalyptus-based, strong and lustrous)
Care: handwash, cool water, air dry, steam iron.
