  • Q&A With This Artist

A: Jewelry, as the artistic form closest to the human body, has the ability to communicate about designers’ thoughts and aspirations. I utilize this spontaneous intimacy between human and nature to trigger deeper thinking of our society and culture regarding our environment. In addition, jewelry also fits into the role of celebration, from one moment to generations. Appreciation of small events or objects let us embrace what we live with, and brings empowerment and gratitude within us.

A: I chose traditional plant paper as the main materials and dyed them with natural herbs. Paper is essential to our daily life, besides its functional usage, it is also the carrier of human cultures and social development. Paper, made with fine and countless fibers intertwined together resembles our intricate relationship with nature. I created various handmade papers, playing with various thicknesses, roughness, colors and shapes to convey abstract ideas I got from observing nature.
