Meet the Artist

  • About This Artist

I have been an artist, a jeweler and a teacher for over 25 years, currently I teach at LIU and Pratt Institute. My work is inspired by the textures of my urban environment; the patterns of nature and industry competing for a voice. For me, the handmade is a necessity; the delight in a student's eyes when they methodically fabricate a simple form, a poem, something personal. To create art with your hands is a gift, a form of solace in a world where everything is instantaneous.

  • Q&A With This Artist

A: 18k gold, sterling silver, rose cut diamonds and other precious and semi-precious gemstones. I source from ethical gemstone sellers and industry leaders who use recycled materials whenever possible.

A: I am a maker and a teacher, I began working in metal in high school and never stopped. The ability to change and alter the material; to create wearable sculptures and bespoke jewelry that holds meaning for both me the maker and for the wearer never ceases to inspire me.

A: When you are an artist the need to create is a constant, currently teaching and making one of a kind pieces for clients has kept me nourished and passionate about my artistic process.
