About This Artist
I’m a second generation of metalsmith, I was born in Havana, Cuba, my work began doing (small metal sculptures, using repousse and fabrication technique). After a while, fellow artists introduced me to the craft of making jewelry, that became my passion, as it involve fashioning small sculptures.
Q&A With This Artist
A: My technique is a composition of ancient and modern elements and I work with sheets of gold, cutting, sawing, forging and soldering, my materials are 18 kt,22 kt gold and natural stones.
A: It is limitless when designing and making.
A: Coming from a communist country (Cuba) made me resourceful and creative.
A: In my time of prayer and meditation in God as I worship I find the inspiration for my designs.
A: In the past six years in our missionary work we have travel around the world to places like Fiji, Africa, India, Italy, Central and South America and as craft have a universal language we've seeing how they have been impacted by our work and at the same way we have been strongly influenced by all these cultures and this reflects in our work creating a bridge between them and the craft lovers.
