My small mixed media sculptures are created from wood, found objects, fabric, clay, and odd bits that I have collected. The ideas for them come from history, literature and folklore from around the world

Q&A with the Artist

Tell us how your work is made.

My pieces are constructed from recycled things. I often use the human body as a starting point, and build an armature of wood or wire as the basis for the form, adding fabric, beads, etc, as the idea grows.

What makes you passionate about the medium you work with?

I love color and texture, and I really enjoy using scraps of things that are cast-off or unfinished to make something new.

What is something unique about you or your practice?

Many of my sculptures use unusual colors for the portrayal of faces, and often characters are shown with scenes inside them or animals or other attributes sprouting from their heads
