Q&A with the Artist

Tell us how your work is made.

I hand build with raku clay with grog and fire to cone 04 so the clay will be slightly porous and will accept the encaustic wax. I love making machines example The Rainbow Man and incorporating lights, found objects, and always a story.

What makes you passionate about the medium you work with?

I find clay a medium that is full of magic. When you open the bag and touch this wonderful medium a new world opens up offering a multitude of possibilities waiting for you to create a personality,a spirit . Each of my sculptures has a story that unfolds for me as I work.

What is something unique about you or your practice?

When you see my work for first time you are surprised by the presents they have. Their eyes may you think they have a soul. Their stories further pull you into their world.
