Meet the Artist
About This Artist
I started Lacson Ravello in 2015 after working in the apparel industry for twenty years and a battle with breast cancer. It gave me the freedom to create a thoughtful and casual aesthetic, to connect with amazing women through fashion, and to build a business that was born out of passion and authenticity. Lacson Ravello is a sustainable fashion brand that is easy, effortless, and elevated. Small batches are cut and sewn in the SF Bay Area using earth-friendly and responsibly sourced fabrics
Q&A With This Artist
A: I use natural fibers, sustainable materials, or deadstock—leftover fabric from mills and manufacturers that would be unused or wasted. One of the fabrics I use the most is a bamboo blend jersey. I love it because it’s highly renewable, uses less water, biodegradable, and pesticide free. I use materials that can be easily hand or machine washed as opposed to dry clean only.
A: I always knew that I wanted to be a fashion designer since I was a child. I would also say it is in my genetic make-up as my grandmother was a dressmaker in the Philippines and I have artists and designers of various disciplines in my family—fashion, architecture, graphic design, fine arts, photography, and music. A: For me it's the other way around. The fundamental act of showing up and creating each day is what has kept me nourished, inspired, and sane during these Covid times.
