Meet the Artist

  • About This Artist

I have been a studio jeweler since 1974. My distinctive use of 23 k gold leaf and sterling silver has been my hallmark for over 30 years. Before becoming a jeweler I was a professional ballet dancer. The years I spent as a dancer gave me an awareness of form, line, and movement that have influenced and inspired me as an artist. Additionally, my early explorations with clay introduced me to an Asian esthetic which can be seen in the calligraphic use of gold leaf in my jewelry designs.

  • Q&A With This Artist

A: Sterling silver, 23k gold leaf, pearls, various semi precious gemstones and diamonds which are set in 22 k or 14 k gold. Each piece of jewelry is hand fabricated in my studio. Fold-formed as well as die-formed elements create visual depth, yet the overall concern with lightness and movement remain central to my approach. I use ethically sourced materials in the fabrication of my designs.

A: I have loved jewelry since I was a child! I used to make macaroni jewelry when I was only 5 years old! That love of body adornment has never left me!

A: Since I have been making jewelry for more than forty years, being a maker is who I am! It is part of my very being!
