Q&A With This Artist
A: All woods like Maple, Cherry, Walnut, White Oak and others are sustainably sourced locally. I go over the wood grain meticulously for structural and design reasons, especially when making Wood Lights.
A: I view woodworking on a spiritual level. Trees are the life source of our planet. So I believe it’s important to respect the trees body, by giving the wood new life in a highly quality crafted design that will live on and be appreciated at least as long as the tree took to grow.
A: Over the last 5 years, I’ve been experimenting with the interplay of wood and light. Designing my own processes to curve large thin shavings of wood and hardening them into place. Im also ever striving to push the boundaries of steam bending and creating jigs for steam bending twists.
