  • About This Artist

I work with recycled precious metals and ethically sourced gemstones using hand fabrication techniques with emphasis on design, quality, and finish. My main collections are Time Traveler, Dark Chocolate, and Bubbles. The Time Traveler pattern is inspired by star charts and jewelry as instruments for time travel. Each piece is chased into silver, gold or platinum with sliding beads and moving pieces. This collection has been featured in the Carnegie Museum and Jewelry exhibits across the USA.

  • Q&A With This Artist

A: I work with recycled precious metals and ethically sourced gemstones using hand fabrication techniques including chasing, soldering, polishing, and stone-setting with emphasis on design, quality, and finish. Each Time Traveler star chart pattern is hand chased into sterling silver, 14k or 18k gold and platinum with sliding beads and moving pieces. The Dark Chocolate pieces are made by getting the silver molten hot and fusing pieces of gold and platinum into the surface.

A: Art has always been a outlet and jewelry is just the next evolution of my artistry. Since I was a kid, I have been collecting pieces of metal and gemstones and it's very satisfying to be able to craft pieces of jewelry out of metal now. Using ethically sourced gemstones is very important to me and I use small businesses for sourcing most of the gemstones in my jewelry and recycled diamonds.

A: A lot of my pieces feature moving pieces and gemstone settings that are hinged or sliding on a bar which is very unique. I also like to use fancy cut gemstones that are rare and difficult to find. The Dark Chocolate collection is also unique because instead of soldering each tiny piece of gold onto the silver, I get the silver almost liquid and let the gold (or platinum) settle into the surface of the silver, allowing it to fuse together.

A: Velvet Underground Band with Nico Georg Jensen (Early 19th century silversmith) William Spratling (Silversmith) Leaving town is inspiring and going new places

A: I just attended my Columbian friend's wedding and he happens to be the best friend I have made in my adult life. I wouldn't have met him except for the fact his is a jeweler. He made his wedding rings at my shop and I was a groomsman in his wedding in Columbia.
