Q&A with the Artist

Tell us how your work is made.

My work is created using tradition woodworking and broom making equipment. I fabricate all the wood components and occasionally work with shops for specialty finishes or components, for example a local powder coater.

What makes you passionate about the medium you work with?

I enjoy seeing everything I create being used in peoples home. I do my best to live with the idea that what we own should be both beautiful and useful. This drives the work I create which often leads me back to traditional craft.

What is something unique about you or your practice?

I think what is most unique to my work is the attention to detail that I give to objects that some may consider mundane. Often I hear people exclaim "I never thought I could like(or want) a broom so much."
