About this collection
This collection, curated by staff members at the Baltimore Jewelry Center (BJC) highlights our love of Baltimore, jewelry, and metalsmithing, while also spreading that love beyond our city and medium of choice. Baltimore Baubles showcases the countless styles, techniques, and materials that can be used to create eye-catching, unique, and beautiful pieces of jewelry. We created a collection that is reflective of our values, particularly our love of craft and community, as well as our desire to make metalsmithing and jewelry more accessible to anyone interested in learning. The Baltimore Baubles collection takes into consideration current trends, but also affordability, with pieces available at a spectrum of price points. The collection is fun and spirited, much like the staff and community at the BJC and we hope you’ll enjoy perusing it as much as we enjoyed creating it.
About the Baltimore Jewelry Center
Founded in June 2014, the Baltimore Jewelry Center is the successor organization to the MICA Jewelry Center. Located in Baltimore’s Station North Arts & Entertainment District, the 501c3 educational nonprofit is dedicated to building a vibrant creative community for the study and practice of metalworking for new and established artists, offering classes, workshops, and studio space access. The Baltimore Jewelry Center’s offerings are open to anyone regardless of educational or artistic background, and the program provides affordable educational opportunities by subsidizing class, workshop, and studio rental costs. In addition to its education program, the Baltimore Jewelry Center helps metal and jewelry artists grow sustainable business practices by offering professional development, sales opportunities, and a promotional platform.
