Meet the Artist
About This Artist
I create one-of-a-kind and limited edition jewelry. Working primarily in 18K gold, I fabricate each piece myself with no outside help of any kind. My jewelry exemplifies a minimal industrial aesthetic; a combination of bold geometric forms, clean lines, and attention to surface detail. The most special thing to me about making jewelry is the intimacy that forms between the objects I create and my clients. My thoughts, made physical, become someone else's to cherish and eventually pass on.
Q&A With This Artist
A: I use precious metals, mostly 18K golds to make my jewelry. My metals come from a refiner that only sells 100% recycled material. The diamonds come from a small Belgium company that catalogs all material from the mine to their own cutting facilities. My process for creating my jewelry is hand fabrication. I am basically building all of the pieces using traditional goldsmithing techniques. I handmake each piece myself with no outside help of any kind.
A: I am passionate about jewelry because the medium really speaks to me. There is something about working on such a small scale that is really challenging, and yet satisfying at the same time.
A: In general it's my curiosity that is the driving factor. There is always the question inside of 'what would it be like if..." I think any time you seriously practice a craft, it is a journey filled with both ebbs and flows. The gift that comes with time is recognizing which you are currently in and understanding that hard work and perseverance will help push through the ebbs so you can celebrate in the excitement and breakthroughs of the flows. Supporting a family also helps with the motivation. :)
