Q&A with the Artist

Tell us how your work is made.

My creative process focuses on strategic experimentation and play to explore new possibilities in kilnformed glass. I am especially inspired to create a more sustainable art practice to shrink my carbon footprint and look for ways to incorporate recycled glass into my work. My work explores relationships with our environment. In particular, how our interactions with an object can influence mindfulness the same way our interactions with our environment can.

What makes you passionate about the medium you work with?

I am most passionate about the making process. I love pushing the boundaries of kilnformed glass and exploring new ways to manipulate the material to achieve interesting and beautiful results.

What is something unique about you or your practice?

The casting process I use to make much of my work has been developed by myself specifically to reduce my studio's material waste and carbon footprint.
