About The Artist

Amerinda Alpern • Portland, OR

Living in the Pacific Northwest, I would find it impossible not to be influenced by the natural beauty that surrounds me. It’s something I am grateful for every day. Coming from a sculptural background (MFA in sculpture) jewelry making is like working in miniature. The process of developing texture on metal is enlivening. Those who have influenced my work are include Margaret De Patta, Marc Chagall, Kiki Smith, and Alexander Calder.
